AMTRAK: The Pacific Surfliner offers five trains a day coming into Santa Barbara from the south, with two continuing to San Luis Obispo. It has modern bi-level cars with panoramic windows, reclining seats with footrests, outlets for laptops, and bike and surfboard racks (some trains may still require bikes to be boxed). View Amtrak's latest schedules and routes for Pacific Surfliner and Coast Starlight, or call 1-800-USA-RAIL. Efforts to improve rail include Santa Barbara On-TRAC (short term) and 101 in Motion (long term).

Breeze: Weekday commuter bus service linking Santa Maria, Vandenberg AFB and Lompoc.  12 trips each weekday!  One way passes are $2 or a 10 ride coupon book can be purchased for $20.  Passes can be purchased in Santa Maria, VAFB and Lompoc.  Call  805-928-5624 for more information.

Chumash Casino Bus: 24 hour shuttles serving the Chumash Casino from Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, Lompoc, Buellton and Goleta.  1-800-CHUMASH.

Clean Air Express: A weekday commuter bus program, serving commuters who work in Santa Barbara or Goleta and live in Lompoc or Santa Maria. Monthly passes cost $140, a 10 ride pass is $50 and cash fare is $7. Passes must be purchased in advance.  Passes, schedules and a route map are available at the Transit Center in Santa Barbara, Albertson's market in Lompoc, and at the SMAT Office in Santa Maria.  For more information, call 692-1902.

Coastal Express:  Provides daily service between Oxnard, Ventura, Carpinteria, Santa Barbara and, during peak hours, Goleta and UCSB. Fares are $75 per calendar month or $2 per ride. Call 800-438-1112 for complete route and schedule information, or view a PDF of the weekday schedule.

COLT (City of Lompoc Transit): Serving Lompoc, Vandenberg Village and Mission Hills. Regular one-way fares are $1 (within the City of Lompoc) and $1.50 (outside the City). Monthly passes are available for $18 (unlimited use within the City) and $34 (unlimited use outside the City). For more information call 736-7666.

Easy Lift: Provides Dial-A-Ride service between Ellwood and Summerland. Restricted to disabled individuals who are not able to use MTD and fares are $2.  To make reservations, call 681-1181

Greyhound: Provides several inter-city bus trips daily between San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles. For fares and schedules click here or call

Guadalupe Flyer:  Providing service between Guadalupe and Santa Maria. Regular one-way fare is $1. Monthly passes are available for $30. For more information, call 922-8476.

MTD (Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District): Serving Carpinteria, Summerland, Santa Barbara and Goleta. Regular one-way fare is $1.25 and ten-ride passes may be purchased for $10. MTD also operates the Downtown-Waterfront Shuttle, with service along State Street and Cabrillo Blvd. The shuttle fare is 25 cents each way. For more information, call MTD-3702.

 RTA-SCAT (San Luis Obispo): Serving Santa Maria, Nipomo, Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo. Fares range from $1 to $2.75, depending on distance traveled. For more information, call 805-781-4472.

Santa Ynez Valley Transit: Serving Santa Ynez, Buellton, and Solvang. Regular one-way fare is $1.50. Dial-A-Ride service for seniors.  For more information, call 688-5452.

Silverado Coast Flyer (LAX/Cruise Ship Shuttle)::3 trips per day, serving the Central and South Coast from Cal Poly to Long Beach.  Stops in Cal Poly, SLO, Pismo Beach, Santa Maria, Buellton, Santa Barbara, LAX, San Pedro, and Long Beach.  Fares range from $19 - $59, depending on length of travel.

SMAT (Santa Maria Area Transit): Serving Santa Maria, Orcutt and Tanglewood. Regular passes are $1.25 ($1 for students and only $.60 for seniors and persons with disabilities).  SMAT also provides ADA paratransit services: $1.25 per ride, must be ADA eligible and submit application.  For more information, call 805-928-5624.

Smooth (Los Alamos Shuttle): Departing from Ferrini Park and the East Side Mobile Home Park on Tuesday and Saturday twice each day, the Shuttle will take you ANYWHERE IN SANTA MARIA!  Just tell the driver where you want to go, sit back and relax!  Call 922-8476 for more information.  SMOOTH also has a Health Shuttle with service to Santa Barbara.

MTD Valley Express:  MTD also operates commuter express bus service between Solvang & Buellton and the Hollister corridor in Goleta and downtown Santa Barbara.  The Valley Express is a comfortable commuter style coach and offers a great way to save money for anyone commuting from the Santa Ynez valley.  The cash fare is $4, a 10-Ride Pass is $35, and a 30-Day Pass is $120 and valid on all MTD services.
